Not much changes tho ... the authentic stinky smell is still around. That's the signature of Pudu Wet Market !!
Those people must be thinking this gal is not in her right mind .... taking photos of a wet market while busy with her marketing .... LOL
It feels good to be able to recaptured some of the 'memories' ......
Pet stalls along the main road heading to the wet market
Fishes & birdies for sale
Tadaaaaa ..... the famous Pudu Wet Market
It lives to its name .... the whole market is forever WET !!
One of the few traditional Chinese grocery shop that's still around
Remember this ?!! It wasn't biscuit cans on promotion tho ....
The shopowner having some cash in his hand after a transaction & he's gonna pull down one of the biscuit can which is tied to a string & then drop the cash into it. YES ! it's an old school cash 'drawer'. Didn't manage to snap a photo of the action coz this Uncle was real fast with the $$$ .... Lolsss
Flock of pigeons around the market
I believe i can fly .... I believe i can touch the sky .... Lolsss
A fresh sugarcane juice stall within the market that still uses the original juicing machine
I was there late afternoon. Most of the vendors were chatting away while calling it a day
This cage looks similar to the one my dad sat me on but the one i sat on was more conventional
An Indian vendor selling spices & herbs
Just tell him which type of curry you intend to cook & he'll mix the fix for you from all these spices
Seamstress altering pants for customers. Just send in your broken zipper, pants, skirts, etc & they'll get it fix back to a brand new ones
Was surprised to see a typical candy / tidbits shop around. This was the kinda shop i went to shop for my goodies back then in the '70s when i was staying in Imbi Road
Another typical encounter .... Chinese medical shop using the wooden drawers to store Chinese medication herbs & pre-packed medications hanging above the counter
Time for F&B explorations ..... An Indian Cendol stall
Yummy Indian Rojak with octopus
Additional toppings for my Cendol ..... sweetcorn & glutinous rice. Wanted the red beans too but i dislike the big type, i prefer the small type which is more aromatic
Fresh coconut water to quench your thirst ....
The famous Pudu Lum Mee
Thick yummylicious gravy
Another famous spot .... roast goose. RM 21.00 for a roast goose thigh .... phewww !
Before coming to Pudu Market, i did stop by @ Imbi Road in hope of getting the famous Curry puff sold by my childhood neighbour but it was not there. Saw a roadside stall that's selling something similar to the original ones @ the other side of Pudu Market.
Well, the filling looks exactly like the one i used to had during my teens but overall it was a let down. It tasted kinda sourish which i'm not sure of whether it was stale or they cooked it sourish
The famous Pasar Road School back then & my eldest brother was one of the student. It's no longer in service ....
A typical Rumah Tumpangan or so called Motel in the heart of Pudu Market
Apart from the modernized development along the busy Imbi Road with high end hotels around, this Chinese temple still 'standing' firmly ....
That's all for now folks, i enjoyed my trip down memory lane .... hope you've enjoyed viewing it too.
CHEERS TO MEMORIES ! ^_^
P/S : People living without memories are ALIENS ! LOL
